The full details for tomorrow's meet can be found here. However, we wanted to recap a few items that came up in practice yesterday:
Q: Where is the meet?
A: The meet is at Flood's Hill Park in South Orange. There is no street address; it is just listed as "Meadowbrook Lane". South Orange suggests you use the address of the Baird Community Center, which is adjacent to Flood's Hill. That is:
5 Mead Street
South Orange NJ 07079
Directions can be found here, as well as a link to Google maps. Note, this is a town park, not a school. The meet is NOT at Our Lady of Sorrows school.
Q: Who is the meet against?
A: The meet is hosted by Our Lady of Sorrows, but there will be as many as a dozen other Catholic schools from all over NJ present. You will see lots of tents and other children. Again, the meet is NOT at Our Lady of Sorrows school.
Q: What time should I get there?
A: The first race starts at 4:45 PM. Please try to arrive around 4 PM for course walk through (usually 4:15) and warm-ups. We will have a blue pop-up tent set up along Meadowbrook Lane. Parking is along the street. The meet is usually over by 6/6:30.
Q: What should the children wear?
A: Please have the children dress in their St. James gym uniforms. It is supposed to be warm and sunny tomorrow, so a t-shirt and shorts should be fine. You may want to also bring a sweatshirt in case it starts to get chilly.
Any other questions, please do not hesitate to call or email. Our contact details are here.
Finally, we plan to take some pictures of the children for this site and for SJS. We also plan to list results and provide a brief write-up to SJS and the Basking Ridge Patch. If you do not want your children's picture taken or name included, please let Ray know and we will happily respect your wishes.
Good luck runners; we look forward to our first meet!!!
